ERASMUS Policy Statement

The proper implementation of international strategy is contingent upon good choice of partner institutions.
In our University the major issue is the uniformity and consistency of prospective partner's didactic offer and the ability to provide the expected teaching effects, regardless the names of faculties. The coherence of education is checked by exploration of information on the potential partner's website and by direct inquiries to respective representatives.
Also, we look for the partners' interest of exploring the same fields of scientific research.
The geographical areas are of a minor importance in our strategy, however this may be seen as a cost factor, especially for students.
Lately, the most important target groups for our university are young (by age and by work record) teaching and scientific staff, who is going to have high impact on education quality soon, and as an innovation here, the administrative staff, especially involved in process of internationalization.
The objectives for mobility of the first cycle students are to check the knowledge and to get practice in professional skills that will be required in their work. The best way to meet these needs is to participate in the work placements in foreign institution. This type of mobility would be strongly recommended not only for students of Tourism and Leisure or Rehabilitation.
The University would still encourage and support students of the second cycle to take part in mobility actions in order to broaden and complete the knowledge gained in the home university with additional skills.
The students of the third cycle have a great opportunity to widen their knowledge about HEI's didactics and methodology of research – with emphasis for middle term traineeship abroad.
The University records all the student's mobility achievements for study and traineeship abroad in the diploma supplement.

The international strategy determines increase of efforts for participation in the organization and implementation of the international cooperation projects for research and education. As long as the University wins the research and didactic profile of partners giving high probability of success, regardless the role of university (partner or coordinator of a project).
Like EEIMAPS project (curriculum Development) as an example of cooperation in consortium of universities from Belgium, France, Czech Republic and AWF Warsaw as a partner.
With good logistic (including staff) and financial conditions the University is ready to act as a coordinator of a project.

Since 1999, the Academy of Physical Education implements the activities according with forms and content of The Erasmus Program.
The University is participates in student mobility (outgoing/incoming for study period or placement in foreign institution), knowing that with these activities it can create good opportunity to gain additional skills that are valued on the labor market. These activities will be continued and developed in the future.
The University aims for constant increase of quality and significance of the didactics and the trainings as well as the placements so that students obtain knowledge and core competences which enable them to be successful even in high degree professional specializations. It is also a good opportunity to develop social competences.
The University is also engaged in staff exchange – teachers and administration, and in this second group the increase of mobility level is foreseen. It is a simple and effective method for increasing professional qualifications to establish scientific contacts and improve command of foreign language.
The Academy shall endeavour to implement other international projects cooperation offered by Erasmus Program like intensive courses, multilateral projects and networks or other new and equal. This should bring series of lectures prepared and conducted by foreign professors, for international students as well as preparing joined programs of teaching including e-learning and modernization of University (together with improvement of effective managing and better founding) and overall improvement of education results.
We should like to stress that straightening the "knowledge triangle" that bonds education, research and business will be a one of strategic objectives for the University in the forthcoming time.
