Official language is English. Presentations may be presented in English or Russian. Simultaneous translation will be provided for plenary sessions.
About Warsaw
Warsaw is the capital city of Poland, a heart of the country and a place with great history and good prospects for the future. It's almost 2 000 000 population is young, with 350 000 students studying at state and private universities. It is also a busy research and business centre.
Different architectural styles are created by a mixture of new, modern buildings, and the old- influenced by Western and Eastern cultures. The Old Town of Warsaw was completely destroyed during World War II and rebuilt with great care. UNESCO placed it on the World Heritage List.
The visitors will also be charmed by numerous parks, vivid cultural life, interesting museums. You may stroll along the streets of the Old Town, take a boat trip on Vistula River, rest by the Chopin Monument in the Royal Łazienki Park or taste local or international cuisine at numerous restaurants and cafes.

How to get to Warsaw
The location of Warsaw guarantees convenient air, road and train connections. You can choose between any of the world major airlines which maintain daily connections with Warsaw Chopin Airport located only 10 km from the city centre and low-cost careers flying to Warsaw from many European airports (some of them to Modlin Airport approx. 40 km from Warsaw) As alternative you may use international coach services or travel by train.
Public transportation system in Warsaw
The urban transportation system in Warsaw is well organized and quite efficient. The main means of transportation are underground (subway), bus and tramway. Standard price of one ticket for any of the means – 3,40 PLN (20 minutes) or 4,40 PLN (75 minutes). Learn more about urban transportation fares at: http://www.ztm.waw.pl.
Price of one-way taxi from the Warsaw Chopin Airport to the city centre should not exceed 15 EUR (during the day i.e. between 6.00 a.m. and 10.00 p.m.). Currency
The currency in use in Poland is the Polish Zloty (PLN). All major credit cards are accepted in most hotels, restaurants and shops as well as most of ATMs accept any international ATM cards (the withdrawal fee usually depends on the cardholder's bank policy and fees). To have in mind is the fact that Travelers' Checks and Personal Checks are rather not accepted. It is possible to use ATM at the premises of AWF Warszawa.

Poland as a member of the European Union follows common European visa policy. For information concerning entry requirements and residence in Poland, please contact a local Polish embassy or consulate in your country. If you intend to stay in the territory of Poland and/or any other Schengen states (during one or more visits) for a total of up to 90 days within a half-year period calculated from the date of first entry, or if you plan to pass through Schengen territory (by train, car or plane), you need to apply for a Schengen C-type visa.
