Program EDUCATION EEA
Józef Piłsudski University of Physical Education in Warsaw implements the Project No. EOG/21/K2/W/0010 "Component II - Mobility in higher education" PROGRAM EDUCATION (Project financed by the EEA Financial Mechanism for 2014-2021 and national funds) benefits from a grant of EUR 57,300 received from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway under the EEA Funds.
The goal of the project is:
- exchange of good teaching and research practices
- enriching the resources of teaching methods and techniques - in the field of Physical Education and Sport
- deepening scientific cooperation with a partner
- development of soft skills in students and employees selected for exchange, in particular the ability to work in a team and promote leaders
EEA Education Program at AWF Warsaw
The program enables mobility of students and employees on similar terms as Erasmus+, however, they are limited to one EEA country - Norway. One partner university of the University of Physical Education participates in the project - Norwegian School of Sport Sciences/Oslo (student and staff exchange).
The amount of the grant awarded is EUR 57,300.00.
AWF has funding for the implementation of:
- arrivals and departures of students for studies
- arrivals and departures of employees
Project duration: April 1, 2022 – September 30, 2023.

About Program
The Education Program, for which the Operator is the Foundation for the Development of the Education System (FRSE), established under the intergovernmental agreement on the assistance of the EEA Financial Mechanism for the years 2014-2021, including between Iceland, the Duchy of Liechtenstein and the Kingdom of Norway, and the Republic of Poland.
The main objective of the Program is to reduce economic and social disparities within the European Economic Area and to strengthen bilateral relations between Poland and the Donor States (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway) in the field of education. Program activities are aimed at strengthening human potential and expanding knowledge in Poland.

Program Activities
Priority (preferred) areas supporting the implementation of the objectives of the Education Program are:
- inclusive education,
- management in the education sector,
- development of a quality culture in the education sector, including internal quality assurance systems,
- development and promotion of the VET sector, including the dual education system and cooperation between vocational education institutions and employers,
- development of career guidance,
- education concerning the child welfare system (“child welfare education”).
At the same time, actions complementary to previously undertaken initiatives will be preferred - both under the Program and those implemented from other sources.
Recruitment
The Education Program provides for calls for proposals under 4 components:
- Professional staff development
- Mobility in higher education
- Institutional cooperation - vocational training
- Institutional cooperation
In order to establish or develop cooperation and/or prepare a joint project, it is also possible to hold a preparatory visit of representatives of Polish educational institutions to institutions from the Donor States (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway).
Program Budget
The total budget of the Education Program is over €23 million, of which €20 million comes from the EEA Financial Mechanism, and the remaining funding comes from the national contribution.
Bilateral Cooperation
An important element of the current edition of the EEA FM is strengthening bilateral relations with the Donor States, e.g. by building partnerships with entities from Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein. Therefore, the Operator undertakes activities aimed at establishing partnerships between Polish beneficiaries and institutions from the Donor States.

In addition, under the Bilateral Cooperation Fund, it will be possible to obtain funds for the above-mentioned preparatory visits, which should contribute to the subsequent submission of a joint application under program activities.
